DOROTHY G. ANDERSON
 
Dorothy G. Anderson, age 82 of NC Hwy 226 North, Bakersville, NC passed away April 13, 2012.
 
Dorothy was a Native of Mitchell County, NC and the daughter of the late Lee R. and Dora Masters Greene. She was the retired Director of The Bakersville Child Development Center, where she was much loved by parents and children. She was a dedicated member of Bakersville Baptist Church where she was the first Female Deacon. She served as the Chairperson of the Mitchell County Library Board, and drove the County Bookmobile. For many years she served on the board of the Bakersville Medical Clinic.
 
Survivors include her son William A. Anderson, of Asheville, NC, her nephews and their spouses; Bobby and Ginger McKinney, Don and Nancy Vinson, Ron and Mary Vinson, Al and Fondra Anderson, and Jim and Cathy Anderson, her nieces; Jan Anderson Myers and Mary Ward, and her sister in law, Elizabeth Anderson.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Milton A. Anderson, and sisters, Ruth Vinson, and Billie June McKinney.
 
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 3:00PM in Bakersville, Baptist Church with Billy Stewart and Larry Greene officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Bakersville Memorial Cemetery.
 
Memorials may be made in her honor to The Mitchell County Library System, 18 North Mitchell Avenue, Bakersville, NC 28705, or to the Bakersville Medical Clinic, PO Box 27, Bakersville, NC 28705.

We are so sorry to see that your Mother and Aunt passed away. Mother and Daddy were neighbors for many years with them. She was a wonderful lady and will be greatly missed. May God bless you all and comfort you as only he can do.We will have you in our prayers and thoughts.

We were sad to hear the passing of your mother. Mrs. Anderson was a loving and caring person whom I have known for quite some time. She will be missed but she will always live in our hearts. You are in our prayers.

To the family of my sweet Dorothy Anderson. I know you miss her so and it was heart breakin to let her go and nothing I can say that will make it any better. All of us at Brian Center are heartbroken at Dorothy's passing. She was a very special lady and will certainly be missed.

Dear Family of Dorothy Anderson,
I was in shock to hear that Mrs. Anderson had passed when I came into work at the Brian Center on Friday! Mrs. Anderson would always light up the room!

My heart aches to hear of Dorothy's passing. When I visited with her, she always encouraged me with her love of God and "taking one day at a time". She was a beautiful lady, inside and out. I will miss her dearly. May God Bless each one of you and keep you in His care.
